Welcome

Hi there!

My name is Craig (he/him). Plant Conversations is a place for me to centre my learnings around plants, particularly Indigenous plants.

The activities connected to Plant Conversations all hope to offer connection in times of social isolation and centre care in times of significant biodiversity loss and ecosystem change.

Why plants?

Plants are our family here on this planet.

Plants and humans share a common ancestor. We are related, and have lived in each other’s company for a very long time.

So it’s not a surprise that caring for plants (or being caring with plants) is beneficial for our wellbeing.

When we care for plants we often feel happier and more connected, and our local ecologies and environments are healthier and more abundant.

Plants are a ‘way in’ to appreciating the relationships we have with each other and with other forms of life.

Why conversation?

Dialogue is at the heart of relationship.

Conversations with ourselves and with others (including plants) can open up a space where connection, creativity, experiential learning and growth can take place.

Conversation is good for us and our wellbeing too. It’s a fundamental part of who we are.
